چکیده

Few studies have explored the correlation between severity of alcohol withdrawal and blood level at time admission. Specifying prognostic factors for life-threatening necessitating inpatient pharmacologic management over course days would be useful to identify at-risk patients Hence, we present case a 34-year-old Caucasian male with past medical history poly-substance abuse who has presented our emergency department 11 times four years mean (BAL) 287 mg/dL upon withdrawal. BAL is highly variable depending on chronicity abuse; however, this elevated unusual indicative severe long-term use. While in unit admission, patient's was 437 his symptoms were severe, ICU admission strong sedating medications control symptoms. Even after these interventions, he still demonstrated including full body tremors, vital sign instability, continuous visual, auditory, tactile hallucinations. This patient presents an interesting abnormally progressing prolonged ICU. Alcohol could helpful predictor withdrawal; more are required prove relationship.
